Presentation on DATASS-300 coating concept delivered from extra-large specially constructed stage.

TAKUBO recently exhibited at Paint Show 2006, a trade show featuring coating materials and coating technology.

The show ran from April 6 through 8, 2006, at Tokyo Big Sight, Ariake. The TAKUBO exhibit centered around the DATASS-300 coating concept and featured the newly developed X-SYSTEM hose-less robot (concept model), DATA-PRO, and SUPER SPINDLE SS. Held on a specially constructed stage, the presentation announcing TAKUBO’s new concept in coating robot systems featured a giant 150-inch video screen. Many attendees seemed surprised and excited. The X-SYSTEM coating robot concept model, which uses no coating material hoses, was surrounded by large numbers of people.

The DATASS-300 concept separates the tasks of generating coating data and production. The data is generated using DATA-PRO, a robot designed specifically for that purpose, and production is done using SUPER SPINDLE 300C. DATASS-300 allows all key information, such as coating conditions and teaching data, to be transferred to other locations linked by network connections. By linking plants in disparate locations, products can be mass produced at low cost while maintaining high quality.

The presentation grabbed the attention of both users and competitors.

The newly developed X-SYSTEM robot is a concept model with no hoses for coating material. It is equipped with a completely new type of gun unit, the syringe gun, that combines a spray gun, syringe pump, and coating material tank in a single unit. An air shooter transports the syringe gun from the mixing chamber via a pneumatic tube, and it is then mounted directly on a robot. It is a new idea in coating material transport systems (collaboration by Nippon Shooter Ltd.) and greatly reduces coating material transport costs.
