Q. Is it possible to use the backside backing specification?

A. Yes, it is.
Using a clear undercoat provides a clean mirror.

Q. Is ECO MIRROR 49 different from ECO MIRROR AGENT?

A. Yes, it is. ECO MIRROR 49 is a dedicated part number for Takubo Engineering's equipment.
EcoMirror 49 includes under, middle indium, and top clear.

Q. Is it possible to purchase only indium paint?

A. Currently, we do not sell paint by itself. The ECO MIRROR 49 series is an Indium paint specially developed for our In. Mirror Coating System. It is sold as a set of plating-like coating equipment.
Installation of the In. Mirror Coating System is a prerequisite.

Q. What are the paints included in the In. Mirror Coating System?

A. Basic paint composition

• For primer coat: Eco Mirror 49, Under
• For middle coat: Eco Mirror 49, Indium
• For top coat: Eco Mirror 49, Top Clear　are included.
• For other UV or 4-coat specifications, please contact our sales representative.

Regarding primer paint

Q. What is the basic color setting?

A. Clear is a backing specification for transparent materials.
The finish of the mirror layer will vary for toned products, so a separate verification is required.

Q. What is the appropriate base material?

A. ABS, PC, and PMMA are most appropriate.
Primer specifications may be available for difficult-to-adhere materials such as metal and glass.

Regarding middle paint

Q. Does the middle coat of indium paint pass

A. Yes, it does.
Transmittance of more than 90% is shown at 24 GHz (18-26.5 GHz) and 78 GHz (60-90GHz).
Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) measurements show that the attenuation in the 78 Ghz band is -0.72db and the transmission is 92.1%.

Q. Does it conduct electricity?

A. No, it does not.

Q. Why use indium?

A. It can be used in the low temperature range of 80°C, shows a mirror appearance, and demonstrates radio wave transmission performance. In addition, it shows strong water resistance and high durability.
Compared to silver complexes and silver colloids, which show a mirror appearance, we have confirmed that the resistance to water, etc., is significantly higher.

Q. How should we control the thickness of the middle coat (ultra-thin film)?

A. Tint meter (transmittance) 5±4 is recommended. The film thickness is about 400 nm (0.4 μm) near 5.

Q. Does it transmit radio waves even if the film thickness is thick?

A. Yes, it does.
No significant difference in transmittance was observed even in the condition of shading with concealing properties.

Q. Is it a colloidal particle?

A. It is an indium suspension and not a colloidal formulation.

Q. What are the precautions for use? Please stir thoroughly before use.

A. The specific gravity of the nanoparticles is heavy, so a long period of static storage may result in non-uniformity of concentration.
Indium paint must be used in the paint circuit dedicated to the In. Mirror Coating System.
Especially middle coat paint must be used in the dedicated paint circuit. For cleaning, speed circulation cleaning is performed with a dedicated quick cleaner.

Q. Is it possible to coat directly on the base material?

A. It is impossible to obtain an adequate mirror appearance.
Due to the different solvent resistance of the base material, stable mirror appearance can be obtained by applying to the undercoat.

About topcoat

Q. Can the top coat paint be toned?

A. Color tone, gloss, luster, etc. can be toned. （Coating sample photo）

Q. Is it scratch resistant?

A. Yes, it is.
It meets the performance requirements for general household appliances.
For areas subject to frequent rubbing, such as mobile products, we recommend an overcoat of UV paint with even higher abrasion resistance.
